A SOUTH AFRICAN GUY & AMERICAN GIRL JUST DOING LIFE TOGETHER AND SHARING IT WITH THE WORLD!

we're Pierre + Morgan

Pierre and I met in 2015 on our first day of work at Walt Disney World... ah yes how ironic, we met day one at the motherland of true love and “happily ever afters" haha! But trust me, it wasn't a fairy tale meeting.

During our training one of our instructors asked the group if anyone drove to work, and wouldn't mind taking three international cast members out to lunch with them. I DID NOT volunteer. In fact I'm pretty sure I ran towards the nearest exit. We had to be up very early that morning and I had no makeup on, nor had I even brushed my hair.

The last thing I was about to do was volunteer myself to take cute foreign boys out to lunch. Just as I thought I was in the clear, a girl from my apartment building yells out "hey Morgan you drove here didn't you?" (wow, exposed) I was annoyed at the time, but I guess I have a lot to thank her for now.

I mustered up all the confidence one could possibly have looking like I did, and introduced myself to the three guys. As we walked towards my car making small talk, Pierre was headed straight towards my drivers side door. I literally watched him thinking, "Is this guy trying to drive my car?" "Should I be concerned right now?" "Is he going to open the door for me... that's kinda weird we just met " All incorrect. Pierre reached for the door, opened it, saw the steering wheel and said "Shit I forgot you guys drive on this side." We both laughed as we stumbled around each other awkwardly, and I then proceeded to bless them with their first American dining experience.... Chick-fil-a.

After training that day, we exchanged numbers and he asked me out to dinner. Clearly my first impression look wasn't as bad as I thought, because he asked me out every night after work that week. (Fast forward to us reminiscing on this story 3 years later and Pierre says, "Yea remember when we met and you were wearing pajamas.".....cool.)  But as perfect as everything was that first week, we actually didn't start dating right away. We had both just started this new job in a new city, and really weren't looking for anything serious. Not to mention we're both from different sides of the world, so dating didn't even seem realistic. But no matter what we always seemed to come back to each other (and would low key get super jealous if the other started seeing someone else)

After my 6 month internship at Disney was over, I moved back to my hometown and we stayed in touch. Over a year had gone by since we'd seen each other, yet we still spoke everyday. Pierre told me he was going to be in a city near my hometown, and asked to meet up. As soon as we saw each other he planted a kiss on me and needless to say we picked up right where we left off. This time was different though. Even though we still weren't

entirely sure what we wanted, we knew we at least wanted to try. Pierre asked me to come home with him that winter and spend Christmas with his family in South Africa (cue nervous breakdown). Flying 28 hours to the other side of the world to spend 10 days with my unofficial boyfriend and his entire family whom I've never met...what could go wrong right?! But as crazy as it was I trusted him, and I went, and the rest is history. ♥️ We've been together ever since, going back and forth across the Atlantic to make this crazy love of ours work. It's definitely not easy, but it's always worth it.
